Being a year 4

This year being a year 7 was lots of fun because I like playing capture the flag after lunch.

I enjoyed playing handball with my friends outside but only sometimes I win.

I liked learning sports like basketball it was fun because we got to play a game and learn how to step.

I liked creative strand because we made maori patterns we made a big board with designs.

The designs on the border were maori patterns, turtles, flowers, samoan designs.

We also carved a piece of wood and Painted it, after we painted it we put it on the paper and carved it some more.

I liked going tech I didn't really like graphics But I like hard material because we made a necklace. I made a koru It was fun we first had to get a piece of wood then draw a design after that we add the metal called pewter then we had to file it then next we use the sandpaper and then polished it. My favourite one was food because I like to eat we made lots of cup cakes

It was yum.

On the november 30 paul walker famous actor died in a car crash.

Paul walker was famous for being in the movie fast and furious his name was brian o,connor.

He was one of the main character. He first started of as a cop then a was racer.

The movies he was in were eight below, into the blue, joy ride, she’s all that, and takers.

Fast and furious is a racing movie in the movie was dominick which is vin diesel brian o,connor which is paul walker they were the main characters. The last movie he made was fast and furious 6.

This year I have learnt new strategies for my math from my teacher.

I learn’t how to make movies and use I movie and how to upload videos to vimeo.
I’ve learnt how to use terminal so I can fix my computer, from youtube a google.

My friend Zyrin teached me how to play a game called minecraft its a game where you can build houses and play online with other people. I have learnt from my uncle teached me how to download movies and websites to watch them. I help people to fix there ubuntu software center so they can download games.

I have grown to learn new things like new math strategies I learnt how to use digital tools like

I pads and flip camera. The big question is how has having a netbook connected to the internet help my learning. It had help me with maths because I go on xtra math and math whizz, xtra math helps me with my addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Action World

On Friday we got to go action world.

Action world is a big place with bounce castles but better.

At first we only had to go on 4 rides like an obstacle course.

We first went on these monkey bars but harder and the bottom was really soft we had to jump over the first 4 then we were done and could go on the big one.

We next went on the crazy ladder we had to claim up a really wobbly ladder to ring the bell.

I didnt make it because it was really hard. The next one we went on was the slide and jump and do flips. I went on the slide, We first had to go on in a bag and go to the top then slide down when I went down I face planted on the soft stuff.

The last obstacle was the rock climbing wall it a little hard but I never made the top.

When we were done he told us some rules then let us had free time .

I went to a place where you wrestle my friend James and I won.

I also went on the balance rope it look scary when I look down I almost made it but I fell down

yesterday we had some investigating people come to our school and were telling us what they do for a living. They ask for a volunteer with a shoe, he put the shoe on and made a print on the dirt. She had a bag of white stuff and added some water to it and said give it around and mix it up. When it was finished she spread it over the footprint and said we had to wait.

After that she showed what gear they have to wear they have to wear this coat and something on there hair and some gloves It looked funny. Next she told us where she works.Then we were finished.

“Jayden time for bed ” my mum said. walking to my room I hear weird noises

then I hear some whispering “jayden jayden”. I start to get scared so ran to my room

“BANG” I slammed the door. I Jumped in my bed and put the blanket over my head

curled myself into a ball. I could still hear the whispering “jayden jayden” like if it was

harry potter and the chamber of secrets. I stayed in my bed curled up in a ball until i

fell asleep. Its 3:00 in the morning thinking this is all over.

“Jayden Jayden” I hear the whispering again Its like was coming straight from under my

bed. So I looked under my bed to see if there was anyone there but there was no one but

the same big circle from when I first came here. I heard the whispering again so I went under my bed and put my ear to the fall and waited for it to whisper. "Jayden jayden" It whispered again But it was a bit louder like if there was something under the house then I heard banging

noises. "bang bang bang" I want to dig a hole to see what was down there "bang bang

bang" "jayden jayden jayden".

Coming out of my bed I saw and old toy I grab the toy and notice something that i never seen before a button .I push the button. All of a sudden opened a big hole where the circle was and I slid down into a secret base. Then I heard the whispering again “Jayden jayden” but a bit

louder then I went to over to weird computer room and there was a talking computer

saying “jayden jayden” then I told it to stopped and it stop. It told me to take this disc

and to move out of the house and to hide it. it eject the disc and spined to me. Bang the room started shaking rocks falling everywhere I went back to the place where I came down. I wasn't going up so I had to climb. Almost at the top The building destroyed the bottom I Jump up and close the hole.

It was all over and I told my mum the whole story so we moved out and went to new

zealand auckland and I hid the disc there. And I went to a new school called pt

One I ask my mum if I could go to my friend khi khi house. She said yes so I got my bag and put my netbook and inside. Walking to khi khi house I could feel the sun gleaming in my face, I nearly crashed into the poll. I got to khi khi house and I said lets go to the beach. But first we were playing our netbook.

After we played on our netbook we went to the beach. When I got to the best I was thinking what to do, then khi khi said lets get some crab we found 5 crabs. Then I said lets make them fight so I made a arena, but we found only little crabs so we went and found some big crabs. We found 1 big crab and it keep on biting khi khi and it ripped one of the crabs arm off. After that we took the crabs to khi khi house and made them fight there, they almost dead so we turn the tap on and put the crabs under it. Then I went home and the next day when I came school he said the crabs died because they had no water.

the first day i went to school

 Today we had 40 minutes to write about our first day of school. From looking at our writing we are going to set some writing goals for the term

It was my first day of school I was getting ready putting my school uniform on like my cousin price he was a year 6 when I started school. I had my breakfast then watched cartoons until my mum said lets go now. I took a long time look at the clock so I could tell my my mum we go school now. Finally it was time to go so I ran outside and walk with mum to school.

We all had to go to the hall then my mum went home. I was excited and sat down on the ground. I wasn’t really listening but the time came when we got our book bags to me a book bag was like a present . I was excited when I got my book bag, then he said what classes we were in he said I was in room 1 with miss george. Back then room 1 was were room 17 is now . I walk to my class and I sat on the mat we had our names on sellotape. Everyone was cry while I was sitting there blocking my ears from the screaming that everyone was making.

After that we went outside and played a game of midnight. I use to be fun but now it isn't

we were outside till morning tea time. We went back to class and had our morning tea then

I ran to the playground and was going down the slide playing on the monkey bars and playing on the bridge then the bell rang and i went back to class

Mahia is an artist. She has been commissioned to paint a mural on wall of a company's warehouse. The company wants the mural to be abstract (not representational) and they want it to show the colours of their company logo. They have specified it needs to have 1/3 blue,  1/6 red, 1/12 yellow, 1/12 white 1/12 purple and 1/4  green. Movie reflection

Last week I made a movie about Nelson Mandela and Michael Jackson. You might wonder why Michael Jackson and Nelson Mandela.We chose them because they had the same message about the blacks and whites together. But Michael Jackson said his part thru music. My group was just a pair, me (Jayden) and Zyrin.. We were trying to compare Michael Jackson and Nelson Mandela together, and see what we got out of it.This was quite tricky. We got a few ideas like from Michael Jackson singing the song the man in mirror.

In our movie I had animations, I had an animation of Zyrin moving his mouth so when he did the voiceover I could try do it in time. But I failed it wasn't in time that much. My graphics were a kind of good because I never traced. The body was good but the face wasn’t. I need to practice drawing faces.

I used to have lots of animation but I forgot to title and I didn’t save it so someone deleted all my work and I had to start again.

P1:  This week marks the 50th anniversary of the I have a dream speech by Martin Luther King. On August 1963 in Washington DC, underneath the statue of Abraham Lincoln was where he made his remarkable speech. He gave this speech because he was fighting for racial equality so that some day the blacks and whites would live in peace fairly.

P2: Martin Luther King was born on January 15th 1929. He was a lawyer but was also a minister. And he also got stabbed but he managed to recover. Then a few days after  his house got bombed, One day something happened. He got assassinated. He fought for civil rights because there was no peace between white and black.

P3: Back in those days In America it was difficult for the black. because they couldn't sit at the front of the bus or if the was not enough seats for the whites they had to move to the back. Thats why one day Rosa Park confronted the white bus driver saying that she would not go to the back. So what happened was she had to go to jail

P4: In america 1960’s the black people were segregated. Martin luther King was good because he did peaceful demonstrations. Black also boycotted the bus so they lost lots of money.

They all did it until they change the rule of the bus so the blacks could sit anywhere on the bus

The message was about love and explain the song.

The techniques they used were a I pad with a variety of shots including close up and over the shoulder shots. The steadiness was all right but still good. The sound quality was great because they used lots of song. They had good acting that had lots of comedy and getting there at lip sing on time.

The quality was because they didn't have any graphics so they just use the background of there videoing. The flow was good only a couple of times it went bad but it was still good. I think they worked good together and they all did their fair share because they're only allowed 3 people 2 actors and 1 filmier. They also managed to get this movie on time.

This term we were lucky to do some art and movie making I did art because I learnt new thing like a wood print. We have to do wood prints this week its lots of fun. We have to carve a pattern on the piece of wood we get then paint it and put it on the paper. The first color is yellow you have to get a roller then paint it yellow and put it on the paper its looks cool. After the red you have to carve some more pieces out then put dark blue over the yellow then it makes it look even better. Then I got up to color red I had to first carve out some more pieces and color the wood red I rolled the paint on then stuck it on the paper it look amazing. But I haven't finished yet I still have one more color to go Black.

In the holidays my highlight was watching movies I watch about 7 movies, but my favourite movie was the new Wolverine. I also watch the movie’s karate kid, karate kid 2 and karate kid 3.
My second favourite movie I watched was despicable me 2 it was really funny.

I like watching the movie Despicable Me 2 because it had a little bit of action comedy and adventure. First it was about a big magnet taking a secret lab near the Arctic Circle .
So the secret agent company needs Gru to help them find something that was inside the secret lab. So one of the lady from the secret company named lucy comes and gets Gru. Gru was one of the best Super Villains.

The first thing they did was to be a disguise in a mall finding out who took the Mutagen PX-41
So the first person they went to was a Mexican man Gru new it was so they went to his restaurant. They found nothing there But a cheeky chicken that was chasing them.

Yellow Hat - The things I enjoyed? Thing i enjoyed was making the wood prints I liked carving out the patterns on the wood. I also liked doing koru spicely the negative lines trying out new things.

Black Hat - Which things didn’t I like?I didn't like it when you are carving and it take a big bit of wood.I also didn't like it when people made a big mess and we had to clean it up.

Green Hat - What was something interesting about this week?I thought was interesting was the wood print because we only need the paper with paint on it when we were finished.I also thought was interesting was the tools we had to use for carving.

White Hat - What did I learn?  I learned how to carve on a piece of wood. I also learnt how to use a carved wood and paint it and put it on a paper

Why is Sport important to me?

Sports is important because it keeps you fit by doing lots of exercise. It can help you learn new sports like rugby. You can learn how to tackle, how to step and much more. Sports can be fun and make you famous that's why when I grow up I want to be an All Black. My favourite sport is rugby because I like to tackle people down, bump people off and score tries. One of my favourite rugby players is Julian Savea. He plays for the All blacks and for the Hurricanes.

Sports is important because you can have lots of fun. You can learn basketball moves like a slam dunk and getting a three pointer from behind the line. Basketball is my second favourite sport.  I like shooting hoops with my friends at the courts. Basketball can make you famous if you are playing in America because America has the best teams like Oklahoma City Thunders, my favourite team. My favourite player is Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook who both play for Oklahoma City. Kevin Durant is the second best basketball player in the world.
