Jayden's Camp Writing

`“The bus is here, the bus is here!” everyone shouted. Grabbing our bags ready for our our trip to our new year 8 camp. I Jumping on the bus excited because I had never been to this place before . With a 3 hour drive ahead of us, I tried to get some sleep de dof my head cracked against the window so I just looked out the window as we went by. I was feeling like some lollies so I got my packet of wine gums and ate some with my friends until we got to camp.

When we got to a beach and I thought we were finally there but Miss squires said Its time for a big walk. When I heard we had to go on a big walk I was gonna cry because I didn't feel like going for a walk. But I still went they said that we had to team up with a buddy so I teamed up with my friend khi khi. It was a long walk and there were a lot of slipping a falling, we finally finished the walk and we got to swim but I just digged big holes with my friend. We went back onto the bus a headed to camp.

Finally we got to camp and it look pretty cool so we dump our bag on the deck. We then had a little tour around the place, We saw some cool things to do like play volleyball, play basketball, go on the big flying fox and even slide down a really long waterside. When we had a look at the activities we could go on the activities that had cards on it there were green ones, orange ones and red ones. The green ones meant that we could go play on it anytime we want, the orange one meant that we need supervision if we wanted to go on it, and the red one meant that we weren't aloud to go on it.

After all that we were allowed free time until dinner time so I went and played some volleyball. It was dinner time and I was wondering what we were having to eat. It was the first night and we had chicken, roast potatoes, mixed veggies and more It smelt yum. After desert it started to get dark so we all went outside a played a game of spotlight, finally we got to have some fun.

Spot light was fun and we even got to play sardines, But it was It was the end of the day and I was tied because we had a long day of having fun. We were all tied and went to sleep.

Football Writing

Football is the most popular game in the world It has about 3.3 to 3.5 billion fans in the worlds.

It has recently had soccer world cup in Brazil and the champions were Germany.

If you want to learn how to kick the ball and score goals then soccer is the sport for you.

This term we were lucky to have soccer in our school our tutor was called Sophia.

We were taught lots of skills, We were taught how to dribbling, passing, heading and many more. After we learnt all the skill I thought we had finished playing soccer for term.

Lucky Sophia made a soccer world cup tournament there was lot of teams, my team was Netherlands. The group members in my team were me, Nathan, Hannah and Jennifer.

Unfortunately we came last I think we drawed most of our games and only lost 2 .

It the end of our lesson I enjoyed it and hope we can do it again but I'm going collage.

I have learnt lots of skills and now I think I have gone better at soccer.

Jayden's colour explantion

Colours are important if we didn't have colours every thing would look boring.

There are many different colours you can even make lots of colour using red, blue and yellow

You can get a colour wheel and make all the different colours, Maybe I can show you the different colours.

The Primary colours are the most important colours of all colours.

The 3 Primary colours are blue, red and yellow without those colours there would be no colours.

With those 3 colours you could make all the colours like secondary colours and tertiary colours.

The secondary colours are created from the primary colour the primary colours a mixed to make green, orange and purple. To create green you need to mix yellow and blue = green.

If you want to create orange you will need to add red and yellow = orange. The last colour secondary colour is purple you just need to add blue and red= purple.

After the secondary colours you got the Tertiary colours there are lots of Tertiary colours.

The tertiary colours are just called red-violet, red-orange, yellow-orange, yellow-green, blue-green, blue-violet, and they are the tertiary colours.

Im now finish and you can now know how to make all the different colours by just using yellow, red and blue. If you know how to make all the colours you can maybe teach someone else

July Holidays

In the holidays me and my brother went to the movies and watch dawn of the planet of the apes.

My mum got the news paper and cut out the deal 2 people from $16 So it would be cheaper for us. My mum gave me and my brother 10 dollars each so we can pay for our ticket and catch the train back.

First my mum drop of at Sylvia park we still had 45 minutes left so we just got out tickets and had a look around. After we had a look around we went into the arcade I didn't want to use my money so I just my brother play then someone gave me a free turn on the racing game.

After that we went to see if we could go to our cinema, we were aloud so we went.

When we got inside someone took our seats to we just sat somewhere else.

They start to show trailers so I knew the movie was going to start soon.

We watch Dawn Of The Plant Of The Apes once the movie started I got my food out so I can watch the movie and eat my food. It was good movie It had lots of action in it I reckon It was better than Transformers Age Of Extinction. Once It finished me and my brother went on the train and headed back home

Immersion Assembly Term 3

Its the start of term 3 and as always we have an Immersion Assembly.

Our Immersion Assembly is when all the teams make a video or perform for us.

Our topic was game on, There were bikes on the stage and Mrs Tito riding a bike.

Team 1 had a movie about some of the countries that are in the commonwealth

New Zealand was in it, Canada, Fiji, South Africa and more but there was america.

The queen was having a talk and said See if all the countries were the right ones to qualify. But the queen saw america in it and America isn't in the commonwealth so they change it to Samoa.

Team 2 had a video it showed us some athletes competing in different sports.

They showed us the Javelin Throw, Shot Put Throw, Netball and 100 meter sprint.

After the movie came up onto the stage with some netball things and holding a golden trophy.

It was Team 3 time It was girly so I didn't like it, but it was about a sport that only girls did it was Rhythmic Gymnastics.They showed us a video of woman doing Rhythmic Gymnastics they were pretty flexible a good at catching. Next they came up and the teachers try to do Rhythmic Gymnastics but they were failing and only doing small tricks.

Team 4 had a funny one, they had a potato sculpture challenge.

First they showed the contenders there was the Cook Islands, Jamaica, Canada and I forgot the rest.First they all got a plate of potato then one of the teachers counted down 321. They started and It was hard to know how was going to win but it was Jamaica.

It was time for team 5 the last team they had a movie about the placing they went to in the holidays. The first one was Mrs Nua she went to Spain and showed some pictures of some of the buildings they saw. The next one was Mrs Squires She went to Chile and showed us some pictures of the land. After that was Mrs Clark she went to New York and took some pictures of what she did then she made a video interviewing a person. Next was Mrs Paget She went to Atlanta and show Pictures of the blue angles and thousand of people on the beach. Then there was Mrs Tito she was relaxing in a little lake. The last person was Mrs Slade she went to Fiji and Interviewed some kids.

Plant and fruit

Today we were lucky to have some scientist come to our school.

They came here to show some experiments, there were 3 people there names were lura Lara and Jacob. we had it in the street so we could just go next door.

After that they ask everyone if they knew what acid is and base, I didn't know what it was and no else did. They got out some cabbage juice it was purple they also pulled out vinegar and mrs muscle. When they mixed the cabbage juice and the vinegar together the cabbage juice won and it stayed the same colour. They did this to see what one has the most acid and base. The one with the most acid will take over and change colour but the cabbage juice stay the same colour.

Next they pull out dry ice and said that if you touch it with your hands it would probably burn it

thats why they used gloves. The man Jacob grab a handful of ice and put it in jug full of water it produced lots of gas. Next they put some bubbles into the water they ask us what's your hypothesis They put the dry ice into the water and it was like a volcano it was coming out for ages.

The last experiment was about solids It was cool they got some pva then put some water in it so it was watery. Next they show us a old cleaning product I forgot the name. After that they got the cleaning product and tip some of it into the pva. Next they they put some food colouring in it they put the colour green. When they put there hands in it, some gange  stuff came out It look cool and they even gave us some. It felt weird but It was still cool.

Future Aspiration

Today we had so future aspiration people come to our school.

There were 4 people Andrew, Mrs shama, Arizona, Alfred they were here to inspire us so we make good choices in the future. Andrew was a radio person, Mrs Shama was a maths teacher at tamaki college, Arizona was at university to be a journalist and alfred was a police officer.

My favourite aspiration was Arizona she talk about her dream and what her life was like.

She said tahi the mahi that was do the work. The second one was a quote for Doctor Seuss it says “Today youer are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you”

The third one was san, It was have some fun. The fourth one was bang down the door and the last one was five strive to stay alive.

I think that thought to me to work harder in learning and get my grades up.

I need to be more confident, have more fun and strive to strive to stay alive.

Understanding sound

AFL

This term we get to learn how to play AFL, on the first day we learnt the drop punt but I already knew how to do it because we did it last year. If you want to do a drop punt you have to know the 3 rules. There are laces away from faces, point your toes in the direction you want the ball to go and hold the ball with your hands on the top. If you know those 3 rules you can be able to do a drop punt.

The tutor said we have to find a buddy and find a space to kick the ball to each other.

It was easy and fun but sometimes my buddy will kick the ball in a different direction so I would have to run and get the ball. After that we got to play a game, we had to drop punt the ball over the river, If it touched the ground then you get a point if someone catches it they don't get a point, sadly our team lost, but I still enjoyed it.

Swimming

This term we got to go swimming with my class. Im in class 5. We have to go swimming so we can survive in the water and don’t drown. We swim at the YMCA pools its just down the street from our school so we can just walk there. When we got to the pools on the first day we had to be split into 2 group there were called 1 and 2. Im in group 2 so I was in the middle pool.

First we had to get a board and kick our legs to the other side, I wasn't tied because we got to keep our head, we had to that 4 times before the next one. After that we did the same thing but hands were at the bottom of the board and we had to put our head down, we had to do that four times as well. We next did free style and we had to do it four times, thats when I got tied.

We finally got to kick on my back I was fast at it But we had to do that 4 times as well.

Next I had to do backstroke I was pretty fast at that we did that 4 times as well. My legs started to get saw and my arms I wished it finished, Then the instructor said ok were finished then we had to go get dressed.

At the end of the day I was happy and like swimming.

Science Road Show

Today we got to go to the science road show at Tamaki College for $8.

I was excited to go there so I could see lots of new things and find lots of information.

It was 9:00 and it was time to head down to Tamaki college we had to miss Assemble because it was Friday and we went at 9:00 in the morning.

We got there and we had to go to Tamaki’s school hall, because that's where the show was.

A man from the Science Road Show came out and told us the rules before we went in

When we got inside we had to sit on down and watch the first show.

First they had lots of things to say and there were 2 gross thing that they talk about.They were talking about, poo and wee. They were teaching us what happens when when you eat something it goes to to your stomach and to your intestines, that's when the man pulled out intestines and said that's how long it is. He told us how it goes thru a small intestine and crushed the food and then the really big one and then it turns to poo or wee.

After that they told us that we can have a look around and look at some stuff.It was like an expo and I went and got my name done on  peace or plastic.There were lots of other stuff as well. It was time for the last show and we went and sat down. Unfortunately there was another school there so we had to sit on the left side.

They started the show and said that there were going to be some explosions.

First they came out with a plastic wall for safety and then a balloon and a little paper attached to it. second They told us to block our ears and then they lit the paper up “bang” it went. Then they said that we haven’t seen anything yet so they got a bigger balloon “bang” even louder I also felt the air push me back. Sadly that was the end and we had to go back to school.

What we did learning in the science lab

Today we got learn in the science lab about sound, We had to match the sound waves until they were the same.The bigger the waves the lower the pitch and the thinner the wave the higher the pitch.

We had to pluck the string so you could see if the waves were big or small.

We also went on other science labs with lots of instruments like the drums, a pipe and a guitar.
I liked using the pipe. you had to listen to one of the pipe pitch sounds and try and find it on one of the pipes. When you looked at the pipes the longer ones had a low pitch and the shorter ones had a higher pitch .

What I did In the hoildays

In the holidays I went to the Easter show with my sister my brother in law my brother my nephew and my cousin. It was a nice and sunny day when my sister said do you want to go to the easter show, “I want to go.” I said. so I got ready as well as my brother and my cousin

I was excited because I have only been to it once.

We made it to the easter show and I saw lots of rides But first we had to get some coupons so we go on the rides. We all got twenty each, there were lots of rides to go but we wanted to go on the hurricane. So we went of gave them six tickets and hopped into a little plane, I was in the back by myself and I was scared that I might slip out. The ride started and It was going fast It was ok at first then I started slipping so I started holding onto the bar, but I was still slipping.

It finally stop and I was happy because I never fell out but I was a little dizzy.

We look around for another ride to go on, we saw the bumper cars so went to the bumper cars and had go. It was fun because I was hitting my brother and my cousin.

We went on the bumper car 2 times before me and my cousin started to get bored.

My brother wanted to stay but we said “naa”. So we look for another ride, we found a ride

It was a spinning one so me my cousin and my brother went to go pay.

I got inside as well a my cousin when we saw my brother standing outside we were saying he was scared.

The ride started up and it was going really fast, It was hard to put hand up.

I started to climb my seat, I was at the top when it started to slow down and when it stop I went straight to the ground but lucky I landed on my 2 feet. It was finished and my brother want to go back to the bumper cars, so we wanted for him to finish and then look for my sister.

I found my sister and they gave us some money to get something to eat, so we went and got us some chips and a drink. With the change it to 50 cents and played games to get money but We all failed.

We went inside a big place with lots of animals in it, it was smelly as well, but we still had a look.

I saw all sorts of animals like pigs, cows, sheep, goats and ponies.

We were finished and my nephew had a look to. It was time to go and so we went back home.

What we did at Badminton

Today 8th of may 2014 at 9:00 we had a lesson of how to play badminton.

I was sitting in class thinking it would be boring with my friends.

Because last time we had badminton it was boring because we had to hit the shuffles in a bin.

We walk in to the hall and our tutor was a man his name was Robbie I thought maybe it would be a bit better. To warm up we had a game of stuck in the mud, but instead of going under there legs we had to double high five them, I was pretty fun so It go even more better.

We had 3 rounds of stuck in the mud until we got to learn how to play badminton.

It was time and we lined up single file and got a racket then we had to do it again and get a shuttle. After that Robbie Told us about backhand and the forehand.

Next we had a go at doing for hand and it was easy we had 5 minutes till we changed.

We next did backhand but it was a bit harder, My high score was 20.

After that we had to do both forehand a backhand I thought it was easier than the other ones.

After we had practice that we had to get into a pair practice with 1 shuffle and hit it to each other.

It was fun because me a my partner were going for a long time, we had five minutes of that then we had a challenge. I thought maybe we would win, but when we played we lost faster than we thought. We had another go maybe this time we would win, but we still lost and my friend Jabez a Taniela won.

It was still fun and maybe next time I could try my best.

Immersion Assemble

Its 5th of may the first day of term 2, it hits 9:00 its time for the Immersion Assemble.

The assemble on the start of the term is different to all the other ones Because we have movies or a show from all teams. My team is team 5 because I'm a year 8.

The first team was team 1 they did a movie about the Zoo and what they did there.

At the the Zoo they were look around and looked at the equipment they use for the animal to keep them safe. Next they said tomorrow all of team 1 is going to the zoo and finding out what equipment they use for the animals and stuff so the animals can’t come out.

Team 2 was about flight and how planes and other things fly, what thing they use.

They had a big plane a small plane and pilot and a fury I thought it was weird.

But then the planes stopped and that's when the the fury used here wand to make the planes fly.

Team 3 one was about colours and happens when colours come together.

If colour went on white it would bounce away and if it went on black it would stay.

Team 4 was all about water and how heavy thing float on water and light things sink in water.

They we giving out chocolate fish for the people that can I answer their question.

I didn't answer any questions because I was too slow to put up my hand.

My team, team 5 was doing sound and they did a video about it.

They all hand instruments They had a big loud horn thing I liked that one.

The instrument they had made them their self from scraps.

This term we got to make a collage about empathy, we all got a big piece of paper.

Firstly we made a document and put pictures in it for our empathy poster we had to put as much pictures as we can. Next we had to make a border around it I made a skinny one, using black pastel. After that I got one of my pictures and glued it on there.

The picture was a man hugging a alien and saying I know how you feel bro because they are both different. My next picture was some shoes saying under it put yourself in their shoes so they know how they people feel. I next drawn empathy look like some computer keys to make it look cool.

I also drawn a eye with green in it. in the middle of my collage to make my collage centred.

Next I drawed 2 hands clinging on to each and writing on top if help.After that I write words I write feel under the alien picture and connect next the shoes. When all of that was done I coloured the rest of the page gold so there was no white patches left, then I drawed green around all of my pictures so it can look cool.

Fia Fia night

Leading to the day of Fia Fia I was training so I could be good at cook island dancing I choose the group because i'm a half cook island. I was drumming as well me and my friend learned a new beat on the cook island drums. At first I was on a small drum then I had chance of using the big drums and I made it But once we learnt how to play on the drums we had to do dancing.

We always had to dance, I was sweating and tired, I wanted a break but we had practice.

The weeks went fast When you know it I was only a couple of days until Fia Fia.

After we finished practice it would smell nice because of all of the food stools .

I was last day until Fia Fia we were all having a rehearsal my group had to go thru the hallway we were the second to last group to perform It took a long time before we perform. It was finally our turn I was nervous looking around at all PE Then we started drumming I started feel computable and started to enjoy my self. Next we had to dance I was in the back row But I still enjoying my self.

It was the night I was walking from Home feeling nervous, I got to school and I smelt nice with all the food around. It look tasty I wanted buy some with my money but I didn't have enough.

It was 6:00 and we had to go to our changing rooms and we had to get change Into what we were wearing. Walking thru the hallway I was nervous then we went outside to sit down.

It was finally our turn And We perform our drums It was dark so I couldn't really see anyone.

Finally it was done and we could go home.

How to play Minecraft

Minecraft is a famous survival and building game. You can building anything you want just by using square block on creative mode. If you want you can go on survival and get blocks yourself like cutting down a tree. You can also go on servers so you can play with people all over the world and your friends, but sometimes it gets very laggy and you have to quit out of the game.

First step is you have to create a world you can chose out of survival or creative if you want your house to be cool chose creative. I like to make my house out of wood there are more than a 50 blocks to chose from. Sometime I make cool mansion you can use crafting tables and Furnaces to make your kitchen look cool If you're a starter at Minecraft you can just make a big block. If you want you can put a bed inside so night time goes by.

Most of the time you will see zombies and skeletons but they won't hurt you only if your on survival. When you play servers you will be in survival mode there will be a big building where you will start and when you go out into the worldliness you have to watch for mc players just in case they come and attack.

how I get to school on time

Pushing my body my mum wakes me for school every morning at 7:00 am.

I ache my eye so I could see I better vision. I pull myself up so I can eat breakfast Marmite on toast and a Coffey. When I'm done eating its normally 7:15 then I go brush my teeth and wash my face for about 5:00.

After I brush my teeth I put my uniform t-shirt and shorts. I Next go and pack my morning tea and lunch I get sandwiches, chips, biscuits, and a muesli bar. When is reaches 7:35 I'm all ready and set to go to school and learn. While I wait I go on my I pod and play games.

I always play the game throne rush its a game where you have to protect your village and go out to war. I also like to play Flappy bird, the game is really famous because it got deleted of the play store. I on the I saw if you have the game Flappy bird on your I pod or phone people are selling for $5000 on trade me just to play the game Flappy bird

When It reaches 8:00 I watch a little bit of news until 8:05. I grab my bag and set of for school I walk to the end of my driveway then check the mail. Normally there is no mail so I walk off to school. When I get to the end of my street I turn the corner and up to the crossing when i cross the road I Go thru a little short cut. When I get into the gate I wait for my friend to come he gets to school around 8:20. When the 8:30 bell rings its time to go into class Sit on my desk and sing the karkia.
